Delta IV Heavy
thingiverse
This is a model of the Delta 4 Heavy that I built. It stands nearly a foot tall and will balance on its own once assembled, but I also created a simulated launch pad with mounts to keep it stable. The second stage easily slides out and is held in place mainly by gravity. I added some spray paint details for fun! This model requires minimal supports. Print vertically, either end works fine. I printed mine with the engines and nose cone facing up. The specifications I used were: * 0.2mm layer height * 20% infill However, this model should still work well with thicker layers or less infill. The launch pad mounts are a bit fragile and prone to breaking, so be careful when printing them. Here's how to assemble the model: 1. Print three engine sections, two booster tops, one core top, one second stage, and four longerons. 2. The engines should fit snugly onto the core and booster tops. I didn't need any glue. 3. Place the boosters and core on a flat surface and attach the longerons to the model using GLUE or WELD. They don't clip on, so additional adhesive is necessary. 4. The model should now balance on its own, including the second stage. You can also print off the launch pad for extra stability.
