Delta Counterbalance
thingiverse
This is my design for a custom Delta hot end counterbalance system. By balancing the weight of the hot end, diagonal rods, carriages and flying extruder (if used), I reduce the workload on the motors, resulting in cooler operation during long prints. To achieve this balance, I use bearings inside the pulleys, a bolt secured through the outer bracket and a threaded rod linking the wide-spaced top brackets. Two nuts tightened together at each trap point keep the pulley and threaded rod firmly in place. The system features two outer pulley brackets: one is a column mount for offsetting the counterbalance weight from the corner, while the other allows mounting it off to the side. The pulleys are specifically sized for use with para-cord. If you opt for the corner tap, I recommend tapping an M5 thread into the center of the aluminum extrusion for secure mounting.
