Delta Calibration for Rod Length
thingiverse
I've got a custom-designed Kossel mini that's been driving me crazy with some prints not turning out as I'd hoped. So, I turned to 626Pilot's Dimension Accuracy Calibration and gave it a shot. When I printed the 50mm block, though, I noticed that one direction was off from the other - big time! That told me something right there: my adjustable rods were probably not the same length, which is a pretty common problem with these things. To figure out what was going on and how to fix it, I took the 50mm block, rotated it by 120 degrees (for each tower), printed it again, and measured to see if anything had changed. This process gave me a good idea of where the issue might be and how to adjust my rods to get them back in line. I'm still working on calibrating things, but I decided to re-print the 50mm block with some new markings and break it down into three separate pieces. Measuring across the block from the side with the tower number above the 50mm marking will give me a clear indication of whether my rods need adjusting or not.
