Delta Calibration Cross Scale and Step

Delta Calibration Cross Scale and Step

This calibration test checks scaling and rod length on your delta. A 50mm tall step test was added for verifying motor steps/mm. Each step is 10mm tall and 10mm thick. If the steps print accurately, move on to testing scaling issues below. For my D300VS it's 800 steps/mm. If error grows from step to step then the steps/mm need to be adjusted. Note: Slicing software can affect exact height along with extruder ratio. My prints are typically .2mm too tall. The scaling cross has following dimensions: The size from end to end is 150mm. Bars are 20mmx4mm set at 25, 50 and 75mm from center. Pegs are meant to be measured from outside of center to opposite side of each peg as 20, 50 and 75mm spacing to make it easier to check with calipers. Arms are 3mm and pegs are 3 more for a total of 6mm tall. In case your z steps/mm are off. This should help determine proper values for fine tuning. If bars grow or shrink from inner to outer, it should indicate an adjustment of diagonal rod length is needed. I found my printer needed slight adjustment with M579 command. X and y were 1.004. Now it prints within .02mm accuracy.
