Delta Arm Dampeners - Kossel Mini & More
myminifactory
I've included various dampeners for different arm spacing needs in other Delta configurations, but nothing specific has been designed yet. The rod diameter hasn't been altered, but please specify any required rod diameters if needed. These dampeners are designed specifically for the Kossel Mini and can be printed directly onto the arms to reduce chatter. They apply a gentle tension on the arms to minimize the free movement of ball-joints, which causes chatter during printing. The design is intentionally undersized by 3.4mm to create this necessary tension force. I created these dampeners after constantly replacing my elastic-band dampeners and wanted a solution that didn't require any additional non-printable parts. I've printed mine in T-glase material but believe they would also work well with PLA or other materials. So far, my prints haven't experienced stretching issues as the tension is within their elastic limit. However, I'm unsure about potential creep over time or heat effects from a heated bed. To print these dampeners, use 100% infill, and you can likely get away with less than full infill if needed. Two ear-rafts aid in bed adhesion but should be removed after printing is complete.
