Delta 34-670 Table Saw Insert
thingiverse
Zero Clearance Insert for the Delta Model 34-670 10" Contractor's Table Saw. This can be machined from phenolic, aluminum or acrylic stock. A ZCI is used to provide a smooth, gap-free work surface on the saw without a space for narrow cut-off pieces to fall down in and possibly get wedged and thrown out. The insert is installed on the saw, then a board is clamped across the top. With the blade set to 90 degrees, the saw is turned on and the blade raised slowly to maximum height, cutting a custom-fitted slot into the insert. Ideally a ZCI should be customized for each specific saw blade or dado head. They can be purchased for under $30 each, but if you have access to a milling machine you can make your own for less. It also fits Delta 34-740, 36-380 and 36-600 models, as well as Jet JSL-10TS saws. Dimensions are derived from measurement of my saw, and the Leecraft DL-2 insert. Source files are included, since you may need to tweak the dimensions slightly to account for machining differences between saws. This is too large to print on my 3D printer, measuring 12.5" x 3.75" overall. If you have a larger printer it might be worth trying to print it in PLA. Sending it out to Shapeways or other online service providers would cost far more than just buying one from Leecraft.
