The original XPS 2710 has four rubber mounts that securely fasten and protect the HDD from damaging vibrations. I've since missed these on my second PC and made a replacement to ensure optimal performance. If you're planning to install an SSD, you can print these mounts using hard plastic, but for an HDD, rubber is the better option to choose.
