I'd rather not have a stand for my laptop if you can elevate the rear side just a little, it will cool much better that way. Moreover, it holds the upper and button part of the casing which is generally held in place by weak tiny screws. I hope you like this idea and make something similar for your laptop as well. To properly fix it, I would recommend fixing it somehow with hot glue, otherwise parts require removal during transportation. Clips are easy to remove and allow the lid to open and close easily.
