Dell PERC H200 HBA cards are frequently repurposed for home-built NAS computers. Due to their typical use in enterprise rack servers, these cards receive significantly less airflow and tend to run extremely hot. Designs -------- Both designs utilize a Noctua A4x20 fan and have distinct advantages. Despite this, both designs will reduce card temperatures over no fan whatsoever. Options * The short design provides superior cooling with the fan positioned closer to the heat sync and is the quieter of the two options. However, in most cases, it may not allow the adjacent PCIe slot to be occupied. * The long version of the design accommodates cards in the adjacent PCIe slot as long as they are not excessively lengthy. Nevertheless, this design does not circulate air as effectively due to its extended length.
