Dell Inspiron 660 Power Supply Stand

Dell Inspiron 660 Power Supply Stand

The Dell Inspiron 660 suffers from a lacking power supply unit. Those who have swapped out their video card have doubtless replaced the original PSU with a beefier one and now find themselves in possession of a spare ATX power supply, likely this very same 300w ATX unit. This experiment marks my maiden voyage into repurposing said power supply for electronics-based projects. Most readily available files for creating a front panel cannot be printed using my current 3d printer due to its relatively modest size of 6 cubic inches. Consequently, I'm in need of an expedient solution that involves installing a heated bed upgrade on the same printer, so this humble stand is my makeshift answer until better-fitting panels can be printed. It's worth noting that standard ATX power supplies tend to follow a somewhat universal design. Therefore, it should easily accommodate most standard ATX units with dimensions approximately 3.4" by 5.6" (ish). **Assembly Instructions:** You will need to print four dell_power_supply_stand_Key pieces, two dell_power_supply_stand_end pieces, and one dell_power_supply_stand_bottom piece. Gently slide the ends and bottom sections over the power supply unit and hold everything in place with the key pieces. And that's it – job well done! If anyone has suggestions or better ideas, I'm open to updating this thing a time or two. A couple of features currently under consideration include clamp stands for improved security, bolt-down options for greater stability, and wrap-strapped channels designed for desk-mounting the whole unit securely in place under one's workspace – your input is greatly valued!
