The Dell 5100mp is a budget-friendly projector option available on eBay, making it an attractive choice for many buyers. Lens caps serve as essential accessories for protecting projectors from dust and damage when traveling. Since my Dell 5100mp didn't come with one, I decided to design my own custom lens cap. This DIY cap differs significantly from the original style, which resembles a Nikon lens cap with functional buttons on its sides that unlock while attaching or detaching it. In contrast, my custom-designed cap requires pressure to secure it in place and can be easily removed by pulling it off. The snug fit ensures that it won't accidentally fall off during use. Additionally, the cap features a loop for attaching a string to a hook located at the bottom, mimicking the original design's tethering functionality.
