Deinotherium giganteum is an extinct species that falls within the elephant family lineage. Rather than sporting two tusks originating from its maxilla as modern elephants do, Deinotherium boasts two large, recurved teeth situated in its mandible. This particular specimen, designated ULg PA 9478, is a cast and forms part of the Fossil Animals collection housed at the Université de Liège, Belgium. The collection can be viewed online through the eddylab website at http://eddylab.weebly.com/collections.html.
