Dehydrator Spindle (Remix)
thingiverse
I saw some interesting aspects of the other remixes of this but I decided to try out one of my own. Since I am using the Wilton cake carrier on my Rosewill dehydrator, I can dry 2 spools at once. None of the ones I'd seen so far allowed you to keep two from sliding around. Plus I liked the idea of being able to screw it down but the other remix with holes required that you buy longer screws. This remix has the holes close enough to the base that you do not need to replace the screws. The stock ones will still reach and hold the spindle down just fine. Also, I removed all the "extra" lines on the object, making it much easier and faster to print. I added a thread to the top part which allows you to screw on the second piece, the extension if you want to dry two spools at once. I printed in ABS with an 0.8mm nozzle for speed but you could easily print with a 0.4mm nozzle instead. However, I would definitely recommend ABS as PLA would not withstand the temps inside the dehydrator.
