Dehavilland Vampire Instrument Panel
thingiverse
This is my inaugural design created in Fusion360. It's a scale instrument panel inspired by a vintage photograph of a late WW2 DeHavilland Vampire DH100 model fighter jet. I've successfully printed several copies at about 2 and 3 inches across, but printing it for larger models would be even easier. It's designed with the intention of adding instrument faces later using a laser printer, either mounting them behind or inserting them into the holes. To add gauges, I find images online, arrange them to various scales until I find an arrangement that fits, and then print it out. Next, I apply clear packing tape over the gauges to simulate glass, followed by taping the sections of gauge panel details behind the holes so the gauges appear inside the holes. - Version 1 is the DeHavilland Vampire simple panel alone without through-holes for all gauges. - Version 2 ('WITH SIGHT') features the DeHavilland Vampire panel with through holes, a panel hood, and a snap-on gunnery sight.
