The de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver is a renowned bush plane with single-engine, high-wing, and propeller-driven features, designed for STOL operations. Primarily used for cargo and passenger transport, as well as aerial application, it has also been adopted by armed forces as a utility aircraft. The US Army purchased numerous DHC-2s, with nine still in use by the Civil Air Patrol for search and rescue missions. A Royal New Zealand Air Force Beaver supported Sir Edmund Hillary's South Pole expedition. Over 1,600 Beavers were produced until 1967 when manufacturing ceased, but a highly detailed model of this aircraft is available in various formats, built in 2014 and featuring amphibian landing gear and animateable controls.
