The DHC-8-100 model is nearly scaled to actual dimensions, featuring full texturing and intricate details, making it an ideal choice for animations. Animateable features include landing gear, gear doors, flaps, ailerons, elevators, and rudders. It's available in 11 formats. Derived from the Dash 7 series, the Dash 8 is a twin-engine turbo-prop regional airliner for short to medium routes, seating up to 39 passengers in the 100 series. Focusing on cruise and economy performance, this aircraft has been popular among small to medium carriers and airlines. Over 1000 orders have been placed, with Bombardier predicting sales of approximately 1200 by 2016; however, production for the 100 series ceased in 2005. The 200, 300, and 400 series remain in production, with plans for a potential stretched version (500 or 600) of the 400 under consideration in the near future. De Havilland transferred Dash 8 production and licensing to Bombardier.
