The Deftify Car Controller is a clever device that lets you use your phone safely while driving. It's a rotary controller designed to be easy to operate. You can find the Android app for this device on GitHub, where you'll also discover the screen reader and rotary keyboard functions. Just visit https://github.com/wizzor/deftify-screenreader and https://github.com/wizzor/deftify-rotarykeyboard to get started. The Deftify mounting system is what makes it easy to install the controller in your car. You can find the design files for this system on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3537457. There are two types of buttons available, solid and light-guided. If you choose the hollow button option, fill them up with a translucent material like hot glue to get the best results. The baseplate has holes that hold magnets, which makes it simple to attach the controller to the mounting system. You can find all the components in the Deftify_Car.stl file, but keep in mind that it's not suitable for printing. One more thing: the central knob in the photos has an extra steel ring that was added manually, but there are no design files available. Feel free to design and print your own ring or modify the knob to suit your needs. Project team members include Karel Simmelink, Sami Mahamoud, Duc Pham, Antti Mäki, Riku Rantanen, and Visa Parviainen.
