Deflator for bicycle presta valves - quick release
cults3d
Quick release tool for Presta valve deflation which are commonly found on bicycle wheels. Unscrew the Presta valve locknut and push this piece in place, it will hold itself securely while it keeps the valve open, allowing the tire to deflate as you do other tasks. Press the button to open it up and remove it easily. Despite its M6x1 threads, it still grabs a smooth valve shaft firmly enough to keep those valves open at all times. Having two printed copies is useful if you need to work on multiple bike tires, such as refreshing tubeless sealant or swapping tires completely. Once the bike is in the stand and the Presta locknuts are removed, pop one of these tools on each tire valve and this will deflate the tires while you pull the wheels out of the frame. This can also be done with a Presta valve cap if it's cut off at the very end, but that requires threading it on, which is more work.
