She is a heavily armed and armored specialized defensive fighter, like her namesake predecessor, capable of unleashing devastating kinetic vulcan guns and limited missile attacks on waves of strikecraft at the cost of reduced speed and maneuverability. Used primarily as smaller escort craft for larger ships with inadequate anti-strikecraft defense systems, the Defender can annihilate enemy craft with ruthless efficiency.
