Deer Jaw

Deer Jaw

thingiverse

I'm showcasing a photogrammetrically generated model of a young deer's jaw from my personal collection, which I discovered during field work along the Utah/Colorado border. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the individual had an abscess at the base of the first molar on the lingual side, while the third molar has only just begun to erupt. Although it's not perfect, I'm not entirely satisfied with the model's quality. The fourth premolar seems a bit loose in its socket, and I suspect it may have shifted during re-positioning on the turntable. This likely explains the roughness on the occlusal surface of the p4. I could probably clean up some of the noise on the m3 occlusal surface with additional photos focused on that feature. The same is true for the pathology, which might benefit from a future reshoot.
