Deep Sea Adventure Board Game - Submarine Air Tracker
thingiverse
This is an exact replica of the cardboard submarine included with the Deep Sea Adventure board game. The design prints out in two distinct pieces, which fit neatly together at their center point. A standard glass marble serves as the visual indicator for air remaining in the tanks, doubling as a bubble marker. Twenty-six evenly spaced slots are arranged around the outer ring, allowing players to track the dwindling air supply without needing to scribble down numbers. I've color-coded my model by grouping these spaces into sets of five - green-blue-yellow-orange-red hues - making it effortless to gauge the remaining air levels at a glance. One slot is left untouched in its original black hue, symbolizing the final moments before the tanks run out. The submarine itself was printed with a layer height of 0.08mm, while the outer ring boasts a slightly thicker 0.2mm print layer height. I've given the model a vibrant appearance by applying a medley of craft acrylic paints and topping it off with a high-gloss clear coat to evoke the sensation of wetness. The diver models featured in these images are actually repurposed astronaut figures, reminiscent of classic green army men. Unfortunately, they are not available as STL files for download. In my search for vintage deep-sea diver models, I encountered difficulties finding one with a suitable pose that could be had for free.
