Decorative Splendor game box
thingiverse
I've been working on this off-and-on for an embarrassingly long time, now, but I'm hoping it's finally wrapped up! Or.. mostly wrapped up. At the very least, I'm printing the first full-size version of it now. It's a compact, decorative box to hold the tabletop game, Splendor. This was given much direction by ryanker1's model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1874603) for the cutouts and 3E8's box (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1055379) for the idea of the underside instructions. Turns out the best way to accomplish the clearest, fine text for the instructions (while, as a bonus, still accomplishing a nice result for the text on top of the box) is to print it vertically. After several different iterations and ideas on how to accomplish this, the solution was to break apart one of guppyk's hinges (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4783423) so that I can print the base and lid pieces separately before snapping the hinges back together. I'll be sure to get a full print-in-place version up eventually, but my printer's not that tall. :)
