This is a round tray/bowl that I designed to test out wood filament. It's part of ZDNet's DIY-IT Discovery Series, where makers can learn and explore new technologies firsthand. For more information about this project, check out the accompanying article: http://www.zdnet.com/article/3d-printing-hands-on-working-with-wood-filament/. You can also watch a video that shows the design process in action at https://youtu.be/DOSaLgZYdc0. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: I used default settings for the ColorFabb Woodfill filament to ensure optimal results. Post-Printing: I put in a lot of elbow grease, sanding this tray/bowl until it was smooth and even. Then, I attempted to finish it with both lacquer and danish oil, as you can see in the video and article linked above. Keep in mind that I'm not a seasoned woodworker, so my techniques may not be perfect – but it's all part of the fun! How I Designed This: You can catch a quick design walkthrough in the accompanying video to learn more about how I brought this project to life.
