Decorative Push Button - No Supports

thingiverse

This is a decorational push button intended for building mock gadgets and cosplay weaponry. The button top will depress slightly with a squishy feel, but doesn't click like a real electrical toggle button. The button top won't move very far since the spring doesn't have much room to compress. I've included my OpenSCAD source if anybody would like to tinker with it. There are a couple different variants for the button housing: single button, single button with ridges, and a double button. **For integration into your own projects:** The single button housing is 12mm diameter and 11mm tall. The double button housing is 12mm wide, 22mm long, and 11mm tall. **Note:** this is **NOT** a functional electrical or mechanical device. **Assembly:** put a dab of super glue in the bottom of the housing. Insert the spring into the housing and seat it at the bottom. It should protrude slightly above the top of the housing. With another dab of super glue, set the button with the hollow on top of the spring. For the double button housing, you'll obviously do this twice.
