The OpenSCAD file, fence.scad, is the main program for creating your picket fence. It uses M6 threads from ISOThread.scad. A photo of an assembled unit on a glass table is available for reference. The fence consists of 'panels' that are bolted together with four holes each. An assembly can stretch up to 4 feet (approximately 120 cm) and includes 36 panels, two sets of end panels, joined by 78 bolts and 70 nuts, and supported by four top posts and four bottom posts. To create a .stl file containing the panels, uncomment the "\panels();" line in fence.scad and set the num variable for the desired number of panels. The attached panels.stl contains eight panels. Similarly, to create a .stl file for nuts, uncomment the "\nuts();" line and set the num variable. The attached nuts.stl contains 16 nuts. The "bolts();" line generates a .stl file for bolts, with bolts.stl containing 16 bolts. The "ends();" line creates a .stl file for two sets of end panels, with ends.stl containing the end panels. The "toppost();" line generates a .stl file for a single top post, including threads to attach the fence, with toppost.stl containing a top post. The "botpost();" line creates a .stl file for a single bottom post, with a spike for ground attachment, and botpost.stl contains one bottom post. Some oddities include difficulty printing PLA due to sticking issues, so panels are printed on their edge. Bolts and nuts are less than ideal but can be easily pushed into place. The top post has a built-in slider for adjusting the fence length while attached to the post. It also includes an internal thread at the bottom for joining to the spike and an external thread at the top for stacking (not shown in photos). All parts print without added supports.
