Decora Switch Child Slider Assembly

Decora Switch Child Slider Assembly

This is a different take on adaptors or devices to make it easier for a small child to operate a decora wall switch. My grandchildren, particularly the 18 month old boy, found out that he's just tall enough to reach the bottom of the light switches around his house, in most cases that means pushing the bottom means he's turning off a light. He's not tall enough to reach the top of the switch yet. Other designs I've seen here and elsewhere either are focused on preventing them from operating the switch, or have a mechanism that sits farther away or makes the switch harder to use for adults. The slider clears the lower screws in case your screws have oval heads, and I've built in generous tolerances so the slider is generally biased downward. The item prints with very minimal supports -- at the ends of the downward (switch side) ovals, and the bottom of the upward (child side) support, about 1.5mm of support.
