I have a lot of three-way switches in my house, and as I add smart switches that demand constant power, I must disable the other side of the three-way switch or spend a small fortune replacing them altogether. To prevent this from happening, I've devised a clever solution - a guard that mounts to either the top or bottom screw of a decora paddle switch plate, safeguarding against accidental flips that would strip power from downstream smart switches. This innovative switch guard is also perfect for smart bulb applications, which constantly require a steady flow of electricity. You can still deliberately rotate the guard 90 degrees if you intentionally want to activate the switch. The guard is designed to be easily removable and replaceable as needed. To ensure a snug fit, you'll need to purchase one slightly longer screw than what usually comes with most switch face plates to accommodate the width of the switch guard. Your local hardware store should have them in stock, making it easy to pick up exactly what you need.
