Decora light switch extension
thingiverse
I've struggled with two unmanageable light switches in my home that are impossible to reach due to their strategic placement behind large furniture pieces. Since my home features flat "Decora" style light switches, @Bingbingaling's handy toggle-style extender won't work for me. In response, I designed a clever solution tailored to meet my needs. This innovative print project incorporates two movable parts that are expertly contained within a compact single piece design. A precisely engineered 0.2 mm gap between the sliding components ensures they stay securely trapped inside the 45-degree angled slot. Thanks to my printer's generous 150mm square bed, I'm able to create this intricate design in its entirety when printed at a precise 45-degree angle. Watch it come to life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_84355Am7U To bring your own extension to life, you'll need two sturdy 3/4" long flathead 6-32 screws for secure mounting. If your print bed offers more space, feel free to remix the design and extend the handle as needed. Alternatively, flipping the longer switch up-side down could provide a handy tool for kids struggling to reach those hard-to-reach switches.
