Decking spacer
thingiverse
I am working on a deck-building project during the Easter break. It requires even gaps between decking boards as I screw them in place, so I've designed a spacer with four adjustable arms to fit my needs. This design will make the job more manageable and visually appealing once completed. I needed spacers that could be adjusted to create a consistent gap between the boards, and after researching, I found that creating my own spacers would give me complete control over the spacing. Using a low-resolution printer is the best way to produce these types of items efficiently, so I set it up with a print quality setting of 0.3mm for the most basic print resolution. This design is easy to make and requires minimal equipment - all you need is a Replicator 2 and a low-resolution printing option. The printed spacer is perfect for securing decking boards at even intervals, resulting in an attractive deck once completed.
