DeckHero- A more portable clone hero experience
prusaprinters
A more portable design that a friend and I have been working on for the last few days. We decided that a truly portable clone hero experience required both compact design and novelty. Will be updating this with newer versions as the design changes. The current posted design is V1. It wasn't designed to be “sleek” or “stylish,” just functional. comfort and playability are going to be addressed in later versions.Parts list is pretty short. The current design mounts to the JSAUX Modcase System. you can find printable clips or adapters on Printables if you don't have a Modcase. @link270 made an awesome mount that works for this! https://www.printables.com/model/500736-steamdeck-clip-to-mimic-the-jsaux-modcase-mountI like to use med-low profile switches but any key profile will work as long as they mount on a 14x14 hole. 5 MX Cherry SwitchesArduino Pro MicroWire a common ground to all switches and solder it to the GND pin on the Pro Micro and solder a lead off every positive lead to one of the input pins on the board.Used Sanjay900's Guitar Configurator to configure the controller for keyboard inputs. That way, you can use both the controller and the steam deck face buttons/joysticks as input controls. I use the right touch pad and analog stick to strum and map the right trigger as whammy. You can map the gyro on the deck to register as a button press to initiate star power as well. I also map the UP/DOWN and Green/Red buttons to face buttons to make it easier to navigate the menus.https://sanjay900.github.io/guitar-configurator/ Will be putting up a build tutorial video after we design the next iteration. Here's a video of me playing with v1
