Deck Post Utility Cap

<p>If you've ever sat on a deck or worked by the outdoor grill and wanted to use your deck post cap to hold your plate, glass, spices or other objects but were frustrated by the tented shape, here is a simple yet elegant solution. &nbsp;</p><p>This cap adapter is designed to fit directly over the standard 4" x 4" cap and is printed with 3D Honeycomb filling and without bottom, top or perimeters for the first 7mm so that water (rain) can drain through. &nbsp;The top of the adapter is flat so that it can hold objects without them sliding off. &nbsp; The version shown here has a rim for a wine glass but can easily be reshaped and customized for other objects. &nbsp;Or, just a plain flat surface is more than adequate for most items. &nbsp;</p><p>I have included the Prusaslicer 3mf file I use to print in multiple colors, and to show how the layers have been set to accommodate the surface changes. &nbsp; I printed on a Prusa MK3S in draft mode (0.3mm) and do not see the benefit of using a higher resolution. &nbsp;I used PETG filament which I have found to be quite weather tolerant. &nbsp;The adapter is quite strong and secure and is probably over-engineered. &nbsp;The print takes a while, but the results are wonderful.&nbsp;</p><p>Enjoy!</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
