Decent cup tray base
thingiverse
A base / rails for supporting a custom built cup tray for Decent espresso machines. Supports 22cm depth & raises the cup tray 4mm above the too of the machine. The tray in the photo is for example built using: - 1x oak board (230mm x 220mm x 10mm - width/depth/height). - 2x 3D print of the file here. - 4mm aluminium wire. Steps used to build: - Sanded board to round it off with 80 grit, then fine polish with 1000 grit. - Sanded off 3D printed parts on the outside part to taste (for flat surface look). - Used wood hard oil to protect the surface. Make sure to wipe of excess oil after 5min, dry over night, then polish. - Drill 4mm holes into board. 2x each on left, back, right side. - Glue on the rails / bases on the bottom side of the board. It helps to glue on one, let it settle, then prepare the 2nd and hold in place on the top of the machine (just the way it should be later) until its a bit settled. That way you'll make sure to have a good fit later. - Cut off 4mm wire to roughly the length needed. Make sure it's straight, then bend on both ends to desired reling height. Easiest to bend it carefully over one finger or a pen to have a consistent round corner shape. - Push relings into holes, adjust as needed (cutting off a bit or rebending). - ... finished. Cheers to flyinggorilla for his cup rails model - that had the right round shape for the Decents rounded top already.
