Decathlon Subea to 2xDAR (ISO 5356) filter adapter - FAST PRINT
thingiverse
Human: Adapter with integrated caps for closing exhale ducts (forcing the air through front valve and preventing moisture from damaging the filters).\r\nThis project is optimized for quick printing.\r\n\r\nThe model has passed initial printing tests in ABS, confirming that it prints well both in PLA and PETG.\r\n\r\nDismounting forces (along receptacle axis) are as follows: adapter approximately 15kg, filter 5-7kg (with MVQ70 o-rings), ~3kg without o-rings; these weights may vary depending on print materials, print tolerances, and type of o-rings.\r\n\r\nAll connections are interference fitted.\r\n\r\nMAKE SURE TO USE A GOOD AMOUNT OF FORCE TO PUSH THE ADAPTER ALL THE WAY. BOTTOM SIDE SHOULD COVER THE O-RING ON THE MASK!!!\r\n\r\n0.8 - initial release\r\n0.9 - caps moved 1mm+Z to ensure good seal contact at the bottom - fails at the filter when printed in ABS - FAILED\r\n0.91 - added flange at the bottom of the filter and groove for o-ring, thickened the geometry at the filters / due to being sleep-deprived o-ring groove is not deep enough in this version - PASSED THE TESTING IN PETG\r\n0.92 - lowered the bottom seal flange and added a bevel to it, might help in skipping the support for this area altogether - testing skipped - moved to next version\r\n0.93 - fixed o-rings groove - mechanical fail at the filter in ABS print\r\n0.94 - current version - o-ring groove little bit more shallow, thickened the body at the fail point, added 0.1mm tolerance to the filter hole - testing in ABS passed - print ready - moved to version 1.0\r\n\r\n1.0 - print-ready release - occasionally fails with ABS\r\n1.01 - funneling interference fit into deeper part of the filter receptacle 0.2 tolerance down to 0 at the last 2mm. O-ring grove moved away 2mm from limiting flange. Loosen fit on the mask receptacle - fail problem solved - tested positive\r\n1.02 - moved o-ring groove closer to the edge, extended funneling for better filter fit - fails mechanically\r\n1.03 - thickened the geometry around o-ring, deepened the groove to achieve less force at compression, further extended interference fitting part of the filter receptacle - tested positive\r\n1.04 - extended mask receptacle channel diameter by 0.2mm for looser fit on the mask. It tapers down to previous fit 4mm down from the caps - tested positive - stable release\r\n\r\n2.02 - bulkier version for 0.5 nozzles (works with smaller ones too) - tested positive - stable release\r\n\r\nAdded version with standalone exhale cap for faster printing without support; two files:\r\n- subea_1.04_no_cap.stl\r\n- subea_1.04_exhale_cap.stl
