Death Star Planter

Death Star Planter

My son wanted to give a Death Star planter to his friend for her birthday, and I had recently printed the design by embeddedjunkie, so i placed all the parts together and sliced off the top. It works perfect for the planter and the bonus is, if you don't use too much infill or layers, it has the ability to leak the excess water out of the bottom if you over-water.

The base is a scaled up version by Geekdad_3D because he built braces for the original stand which should hold the weight better for this remix.

I was in a rush to print for the party, so I did not use supports, and there was only some slight drooping at the first two rings towards the top. The strands were easily removable, but if you have the time, the supports will help out a lot.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

CR-10

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

30

Filament:
CC3D PLA Silver Silk

Notes:

The larger, shiny one is printed in CC3D Silver Silk PLA, and it looks beautiful in person. The smaller was printed at 60% scale in Inland Silver PLA.
At 100% scale, the planter is 5 inches in circumference, and the height is 4.5 inches.

Category: Decor
