Death Star Laser Turret - Simple

This is a reimagined Death Star Laser turret for the Star Wars X-Wing miniatures game. It's a design that pushes the limits, not a faithful replica. I hacked into the existing model, splitting it into three parts and reworked each one to create a rotating turret with elevating guns. The base has been hollowed out and the guns streamlined. The entire assembly clicks together seamlessly. The STL file includes all three parts snapped together in one neat package. Cura has scaled them up for easy printing, but feel free to break apart or delete any of the components you don't need - it's all part of the creative process. With a little prep work, the hollow base can serve as a canvas for your next project: adding a destroyed turret base within its empty shell. It's a great idea just waiting to be explored. STL files that bring short-barreled guns and an updated destroyed base insert with bolder surface details are now part of the package, swapping out seamlessly for their predecessors. And one more thing... On 9/26/19, I threw a curveball into the mix by adding the Halo Mega Blok adaptation to our collection - keep your eyes peeled! Just a quick tip: the gun barrels come in the perfect position when you assemble the turret. Feel free to print them upright if you keep track of orientation; they fit snugly near the pivot so you can secure them flat against the rotation post.
