Death Star Bookend (with light)

Go Empire This is a Death Star inspired bookend. CAD Files I designed this Death Star bookend as two parts and merged them into one: the bookend, and half of the Death Star. I created the Death Star file by modifying [Smashley's](http://www.thingiverse.com/Smashley/about/) Tree Topper [Death Star](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1918619/). I merged his two top and bottom halves, then cut it in half again. Once I had this vertically cut half of the Death Star, I merged it with a bookend. I have provided files for the final product, the death star half, and the bookend. Electronics After printing the Death Star bookend, I created a small electronics system that fits inside the hollowed out Death Star to make the light effect shown in [This Video](https://youtu.be/qwgJUF0WRpM) (You might have to right click and open the link in a new tab for the link to work). I included a GIF of the video with the photos above, but Thingiverse will only display an thumbnail of the gif. To create this, I used an RG LED with a 150Ohm resistor per LED anode lead (one resistor before the red prong and one resistor before the green prong). I also used a 22kOhm resistor with the button, but it is covered in heat shrink in the pictures. I connected these all to an Arduino Nano. The Arduino files can be found [Here](https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxCWl03LttPBTmNDRW1JSzR4cjA). If you want more information, like a wiring diagram, check out [This Post](http://tomtprojects.blogspot.com/2017/05/death-star-bookend-with-led-lights.html) that has additional information and instructions. The Death Star does not print with the hole for the LED. That way, if you don't want to use the electronics, you don't have to deal with a hole in the Death Star. Thanks! Special thanks to [Smashley](http://www.thingiverse.com/Smashley/about/) for sharing his Death Star file! Please feel free to tweak and modify the files I've provided. If you have any questions, post them in the comments and I will do my best to answer them. If you print or make one of these, please share it with the "I Made One" feature. I'd love to see them! Thanks and Enjoy! Edit: Smashley brought it to my attention that the original edit was from [kystopz89's](http://www.thingiverse.com/kystopz89/about) [Death Star](http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1284637). Thanks kystopz89 for sharing too!
