The Death Star Makes STEM Cool! By Connor Flinn and Whitten Hardy With the latest Star Wars movie right around the corner, we decided to get in on the action by building our own Death Star model. It's suitable for just about everyone, especially those who love the Star Wars franchise. We built this bad boy using Blender, a top-notch 3D modeling tool. To start, we created a sphere and broke it down into 32x32 segments with lines connecting them all together. Next, we pushed the center of our model inward to create that famous trench. With the Boolean modifier in place, we used another sphere to craft an indentation right onto the Death Star's surface. This DIY project can be enjoyed for its own sake, or shared with friends and family to show off your tech-savvy skills.
