A deadly disease struck the town. The bodies forgotten in the buildings and streets filled the town with the smell of death, and in this horror, in one house a woman had been lying on the floor next to her bed for days. Her skin clung to her bones, and every inch of her ached, and at the same time, her senses were trapped in a strange numbness. One evening, with the little vision she had left, she looked at a crack in the wall and felt that her spirit was absorbed by the silence of the darkness towards the unknown. In an instant she was walking lightly on her bony legs until she reached a well where an angel was residing. It offered to exchange her death for a wish, only the wish could not grant her life. The woman extended her hand to give him the weak flame that represented her mortal life, and then she was allowed to enter the waters of the well to receive her wish, and so she did.
