Death Dealer (inspired) helmet
thingiverse
One of my favorite characters has always been Frank Frazetta's "Death Dealer". I had some unspent creative energy this weekend and wanted to learn how to sculpt in MudBox, so I decided to tackle the famous helmet head-on. My take on the iconic design is now complete, and once I have more experience with MudBox under my belt, I might go back in and refine those details that are still a bit rough around the edges. Like my Wolverine helmet before it, the inside of this Death Dealer helmet is smooth and fully realized, not just a hollow shell of the exterior. This means that if you print it large enough, you should be able to wear it comfortably - no more scratching your head or adjusting a poorly fitting helmet. I added some wear and tear to the model, which gives it a nicely weathered look, complete with scuffed up areas that really make it pop. Post-Printing The supports came out easy to clean up, and I was able to get the model looking great in just about 4.5 hours. How I Designed This This is how the model looked in Mudbox - a far cry from the finished product you see above!
