dEarring#87: Micro (b)earring 12mm (works!)
thingiverse
A variety of mini bearings are available on Thingiverse, but some require assembly and downscaling others isn't feasible. Consequently, an original bearing was designed. Surprisingly, 2mm balls print well, but the limited printer resolution caused issues with keeping the balls in place. The fifth attempt featured flat plates on top and bottom to address this issue. Although the photo quality is poor, the tiny bearing works with tweezers for manipulation. A smaller bearing with a thicker plate modification could potentially work as well. Despite some challenges, like fused balls to the axis, the final print was satisfactory. For further customization, users can try smaller versions with restrictor plates and balls under 8mm with three balls might work. The printing instructions include using minimal support angle and provided STL files for easy printing.
