I saw Joel's video and really liked the design, but I don't have a dual extruder and I'm having trouble getting the stopping mid-print thing to work. Others have remixed the original into stacking layers, but you can see the red, black, and white on the side, so I basically sliced up the original to use the red as the front and outer rim, with the black section sitting inside this and the whites of the eyes slotting into the spaces in the black disc. I had to tweak the white and black and print a couple of times reducing their size a little due to the low tolerance in my printer, as well as using a small file to get the eyes to fit snugly. Everything was glued together with superglue gel. I also reduced the overall size by 50% to get badge-sized versions, which works well. I might use these as fridge magnets with some rare earth magnets glued on the back. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 20% Notes: I flipped the red outer over section to get a smoother finish on the front with the heated bed on the Lulzbot. I used PLA for the red and black, and ABS for the white as that's all I had in white. Post-Printing Laying the red section face down, I ran a bead of glue up the center section and around the inner rim using the smallest amount to avoid squeeze-out. I quickly pressed in the black disc and flipped it over to check for alignment with the red line. Once the black was glued into place, I carefully filed the white eyes slightly to fit and once they clicked into place easily, I popped them out and put a spot of glue behind them to hold them in place. My printer left a few artifacts from layer changes that I took care of with a file again. How I Designed This I basically used Tinkercad with lots of box holes and cylinder holes to slice up the original, duplicating the original file and also using the remaining sections as holes, whittling it down into separate pieces.
