Dead Truck Cover Shelving
prusaprinters
No idea if this is useful to anyone, but it was fun. This is a small part of a larger project to upcycle an old truck bed cover into useful items instead of throwing it out. These shelves were made using the crossmembers of the truck bed. They are around 33mm x 22mm and cut to around 304mm (1 foot) in length. One beam made four of them, enough for one shelf. Two of the larger end panels are needed and eight of the braces (4 of each orientation). The side panels print flat. No supports needed. The bars slide in for a tight fit. This saved a few hours of print time vs printing them vertical. The wooden shelf was also donated form something headed for the bin :)Added a small “Shelving Size Test” so you can try before wasting a lot of filament. PETG or PLA. I used the Draft setting in Prusaslicer (.3 layer height) with 3 Perimeters.
