Dead Space 2 Marker Redux

Dead Space 2 Marker Redux

thingiverse

Dead Space markers comprise numerous non-planar quads, necessitating triangulation that results in undesirable and inconsistent creases when using 3D printing. For this remix, the model topology has been manually un-triangulated and refined to facilitate high-resolution subdivision before re-triangulating for applications such as saving as an STL file. In CURA, with the remix on the right: Image: A visual representation of the process is available. Included are three files: * **marker_cleanup.obj**: The cleaned-up model without subdivisions applied, featuring hard edges marked for subdivision (1410 polygons) * **marker_smooth.obj**: The same model after undergoing three passes of Catmull-Clark subdivision (89046 polygons) * **marker_smooth.stl**: An STL file of the same model for convenience Feel free to subdivide the base model yourself in your preferred 3D modeling program to achieve any desired level of resolution.
