Dead Reckoning Player Chest

Dead Reckoning Player Chest

As soon as I received Dead Reckoning, I knew I wanted to replace the player chests with something more robust than the cardboard boxes. I found johnbentcope's Minecraft chests and started with that. I took the model into TinkerCAD and added the skull token (from TinkerCAD), the DR logo on the front of the box, and added some rivets. I printed these in Brown PLA with .12 layer height and then just did a black wash. I painted the skulls on top of each box to match the player color. I printed the lid skull-side up with the latch touching the build plate. I used progressive support in a gird pattern to reduce material. This orientation produces a really nice result on the box lid. The hinge needs a little clean up with some sandpaper and an exacto knife. But it does work pretty well once cleaned up.
