The 25,000-acre Carlos Avery WMA sprawls across central Minnesota, USA, its vast expanse of untouched wilderness preserved for an array of outdoor enthusiasts. This prime hunting and fishing ground is also a critical habitat for waterfowl, boasting over 11,700 acres of lush wetlands that teem with life. Our intrepid canine companion made a gruesome discovery in the Carlos Avery WMA - a deceased coyote lying next to a parking lot. Based on the advanced state of decomposition, it's likely that the coyote met its demise in late fall or early winter 2016. The unfortunate animal's body was probably discarded by the hunter who took its life, deciding not to haul it back home. As Minnesota law allows for coyote hunting year-round without a permit, this incident is merely an unfortunate consequence of the state's lax regulations. Despite the coyote's advanced decomposition, its basic structure remains remarkably intact, with much of its soft tissue having already been ravaged by scavengers. This morbid find serves as a poignant reminder of the harsh realities that exist in the wild.
