Dead Blow Mallet
thingiverse
I've been actively working on a set of innovative 3D printed hand tools to develop my CAD skills. The hammer head is primarily hollow. Print it with the minimum amount of supports necessary, ideally no more than 5% or less. Once it's printed, use a coat hanger or bent nail to break out as many internal supports as possible. Fill the head with sand, BBs, or lead shot for added weight and balance. If you print the mallet at full size, you can utilize a 3/8ths bolt to plug the fill-hole, alternatively, hot glue is also an option. This print was specifically designed for my large format printer, so you may need to scale it down to suit your own machine's capabilities. I'm providing the original inventor files as well as the STLs for your convenience. Feel free to use or modify these designs as you see fit - they're placed in the public domain, available for anyone to access and utilize freely.
