Generate a cover for your dead-blow hammer and give it an extended life with a FLEX TPU cover.Be sure to reduce the diameter you enter so you are stretching it a bit as it gets installed. I have started at -1.2mm. The solution is still young but I have not used any glue and my covers seam to be doing well.The surface under the coverDead-blow hammer plastic dries out or gets damaged. Make sure you have some plastic behind the cap. If you have lost too much plastic on the face, cut it out to some known shape and print yourself a fill slug or stick something else in it... even wood... then put the cover on. If you had to use a fill slug, you may wan to glue it in place. Hot glue gun?You can print it for a regular hammer as well.You can print ROUND or ROUND with CUT EDGES. Maybe I will add a hex option later.I added ROUNDING of the corners on the internal surfaces to better match the hammer and fight the rocker affect when pounding.I also added optional vent holes which will print in the front edges to fight against compressed air on impact from pushing the cap forward.PRINT INSTRUCTIONSYou want good surfaces... I printed my with 10 bottom layers... that is 2mm of solid plastic and then I set to 80% fill so a couple layers of high density fill print and then the top surface which goes on the hammer face.Do the same and add some vertical walls so you get a solid wall on the wrap. I default to 5mm face and 2.4mm walls which seams to do well.I only have one hammer.. it is 1.5 to 2lbs as I recall and about 55.6mm in diameter... but you can make your own.
