A 3D printable blade disposal bin, suitable for any razor blades up to the size of a double edge safety razor.

It is incredibly irresponsible to throw razors, or blades of any kind for that matter, into the normal bin, and therefore it is recommended that you dispose of safety razors in a specialized blade bin or tin. This is because bin men and animals alike can be harmed by the blades if they cut through the bin bag.

Shave responsibly!

The bin prints in two parts, the base and the lid. The base comes in two different varieties, of course the 70mm bin holds more blades but the smaller version will still hold a fair amount.

Once you have printed both parts, simply superglue the lid to the base by putting a small amount of glue on the touching surfaces; this will seal the bin shut and mean that there is no way for the razors to come out once they have gone in!

Print instructions

The walls are very thin, so the infill amount depends on your print setting wall thickness, I personally went for 0.8mm walls with a 0.4mm nozzle meaning that on either face there are two walls.

I'm sure with thinner walls there still would be little risk of the blades cutting through the material; in my case I used PLA. I obviously would NOT recommend printing this in flexible material to remove the risk of the blades cutting through the wall or the bin being crushed and releasing the blades. Hard materials only.

Happy printing!
