DE 9 Mounting Plate
thingiverse
Being thoroughly laid back, I borrowed a DE9 from another design and used OpenSCAD to hack out the parts I didn't need, adding an apron with mounting holes in the process. Instructions This is extremely easy to print but you have to ensure your measurements are precise. The idea is that you can cut a decent rectangular hole in your panel big enough for the DE9 to pass through, drill two holes in the panel, and then this plate covers up the unattractive hole. The connector hangs from the jack screws.
