DDR Arcade - Coin Mech Delete and Replacement Hose

thingiverse

I recently purchased a DDR arcade machine that was converted for Stepmania, but it lacked some crucial coin mechanisms, so I took matters into my own hands and designed custom covers to fill the gap. The missing wiring hose connecting the pads to the cabinet also presented an opportunity to get creative - I came up with couplers that enable me to repurpose a spare vacuum hose, which I scored for a steal at a thrift store for just $1.99. To my surprise, the friction fit on the hose held surprisingly well, providing a secure connection without any fuss. The coin mechanism debacle meant my control panel was left dangling loose, but I didn't let that stop me - I designed a sturdy bracket to hold it firmly in place. And since one of the coin doors lacked a knob, I crafted a custom knob to grant me access to the control panel once again. To keep everything in check, I hot-glued some magnets into the door to keep it shut tight. Installing the covers and knob was a breeze - I simply held them in place by hand before heating and molding the edges of the covers to secure them firmly in position.
